One of the ways we as the Church can be the hands and feet of Jesus is to go where people are hurting to come alongside and serve them in times of need.
Two devastating wind-fed fires have claimed dozens of lives and destroyed thousands of structures in the greater Los Angeles area. In the wake of the devastation caused by these fires, we can take action now by partnering with Samaritan’s Purse, a non-profit that mobilizes staff and equipment and enlists thousands of volunteers to provide emergency aid to victims of tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, floods, and other natural disasters in the United States.
Samaritan’s Purse is currently organizing volunteer teams who will assist homeowners affected by the Eaton Fire and will help in Jesus’ Name with personal property recovery. There will be opportunities for day volunteers only, and no skills are necessary prior to serving. Volunteers will be led and instructed by experienced team leads.
